The Adam Press is a small-scale Howden-based publisher, founded and run by Mike Smith, initially established to publish both his poetry and his stories for use by primary school teachers.

A regular Adam Press publication is HOWDEN MATTERS, a monthly magazine for Howden.

Howden is a small market town in East Yorkshire. HOWDEN MATTERS is read by over 500 people. However, when you consider how many people pass the magazine round their families the readership will be nearer a thousand!

The Adam Press logo comprises Mike Smith's one-time family cottage - Pinfold Cottage - in a village near Driffield, East Yorkshire, and his late dad's name.
